Currently looking for a Project Manager to fill a Construction opening for large commercial construction projects with a global commercial metals & steel company in Hawaii. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working in Hawaii and have a heavy commercial civil construction background preferably in highways, bridges, stadiums, retail and large hotels.
Responsibilities of the Construction Project Manager
- Manage multiple projects to successful completion and enjoy interfacing with clients and colleagues across the organization.
- Allocate resources and personnel.Monitor and coordinate project details to ensure progress is completed on schedule and within budget.

- Prepare project reports.
- Review project status with clients and management.
- Other tasks as directed.
Requirements of the Construction Project Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial, Retail, Heavy Civil, Bridge, or Large Hotel projects in the construction industry.
- General contracting and project management experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with large construction projects in Construction Project Management.
- Minimum 1 year in a Hawaii business setting.
- Rebar and/or concrete experience highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen.
- Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawings.
- Strong client facing and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Skilled in scheduling, planning, organizing and prioritizing work.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and influence others.
- Creative thinking and problem solving abilities.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products.
- Good time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to carry and/or lift up to 30 lbs. and climb stairs when necessary.
